As some of you know, I’ve worked with BadOnlineDates.com before in helping provide content for their A Man’s Point of View series. Now ABC Magazine and 20/20 have partnered with BadOnlineDates, because they want to answer the question: What makes a good date go bad? They don’t only want to hear your stories, they want to see them.
ABC Newsmagazine 20/20 is working with BadOnlineDates.com and we are looking for videos of dates gone wrong, the wilder the better! So the next time your date heads south, instead of just thinking what you will post on Facebook, blog, or tell your friends…..think of taking out your iPhone or digital camera and recording it all! Make sure it’s obvious why this is an example of a “Bad Date”…you can narrate if you want….you can ask questions ….you can even shoot yourself too, not just the other person if you like….whatever will make it clear what’s wrong.
It may take some creativity on your part to pull it off; it probably won’t work if you say “this date is so awful I need video to prove to my friends what happened!” So by all means have fun…make it playful! But however you can do it, the video should show people what you went through.
If necessary for television broadcast identities can be kept confidential, but 20/20 wants to see whatever you can shoot. If you’ve ever recorded something in the past, that’s worth sending too. There’s no guarantee that what you submit will be used, but the producers will contact anyone whose story they like.
Please don’t stage anything, it has to be real. You can send your video clips, bad date stories, and contact information to Thomas.j.berman@abc.com or contact BadOnlineDates.com, Facebook or Twitter @BadOnLineDates directly for more information. Good luck with your bad luck!
PS… if you become Kim Kardashian famous, W.I.M. will expect a discretionary 10% finder’s fee… LOL… But, I’m seriously dead serious.
Man i wish i had a cam for this awkward double date i went on a couple weeks back just so i can just look into the cam with a “wtf” face lol
This sounds….like a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Boy oh boy am I gonna be in a salty mood for the rest of forever but LOL @ "but I'm seriously dead serious." Nevermind the emotional damage to Kim or Kim-esque women….as long as you get paid and have your entertainment, right? *raised eyebrow* … *re-raises my eyebrow at my reflection for laughing*
Is this supposed to be a real life reality "hell date" type of show??????
I just thought about this….in order for this not to be staged and planned u would have to video tape all of your future dates……….now how weird and awkward would that be????? Yeah that will make that person want a 2nd and 3rd date with you…..lol. Thats just crazy….who the hell thought of this idea anyway???
In theory this sounds like a good TV, but wouldn't you only know it's a bad date by going through it? I think something like this has to require some type of staging/acting. Like if your date has previously mentioned she hates sushi, but you take her anyway because you have a Groupon. Or maybe you purposely show up late knowing that dude is OCD. Something quirky like that that'll throw the whole night off.
Should be interesting though
